In Kiefersfelden, too, it was clear that people had only recently discovered (motorcycle) trials, so it was still new and enthusiasm was correspondingly high. In 1966, the Alpine Cup was added, a series of competitions in the local Alpine region. In this spirit of optimism, people in Kiefersfelden were also open to new ideas, and so a cycle trial was organized for the local children.

Exactly how bike trials came about in Kiefersfelden in 1966 remains unclear. The text shown here, taken from the MSC Kiefersfelden's 25th anniversary publication (1952-1977), is the only information available on the subject. It is interesting to note that this bike trial apparently served as a model for the “Meister auf zwei Rädern” (Champion on Two Wheels) bicycle tournaments organized by the ADAC since 1970 – the MSC Kiefersfelden was also an ADAC club. Whether the “Kieferer” converted their bike trial into a tournament on their own initiative or whether this was related to the interest of the ADAC would also need to be clarified.
In any case, I will stay on top of this and hope that the “Kieferers” still have old documents that can be used to clarify the questions mentioned—and maybe there are even photos.
