The early bicycle trials organised by MSC Schatthausen (southeast of Heidelberg) – also a well-known trials organiser – were held in the early 1970s by the club for the children of active motorcycle trials riders and for the local village youth, and were known as ‘Kindertrial’ (children's trials). These individual events were held for two or three years.
One of these two or three bicycle trials took place on 9 July 1972, a Sunday. With a little effort, the date of the event can be deciphered on the prize pictured above the coat of arms.

The second-place prize shown here was won by Matthias Waldi, the son of Günter Waldi, a well-known motorcycle trials official from Schatthausen. Matthias Waldi writes:
The sections were about 150 metres away from our warehouse (on the club grounds). Mounds of earth dumped by lorries had to serve as sections. My father says we also drove on the slope behind it. The sections were marked with flags.
Lorenz Hoffmann and Klaus Dürk were also at the start... I guess there were about 10-15 riders. We used our normal road bikes. Lorenz had a Bonanza bike and won."
